BLACK SABBATH And IRON MAIDEN Members To Appear At Next Year's 'Texas Frightmare Weekend' Horror Convention

October 23, 2026

BLACK SABBATH drummer Bill Ward and bassist Geezer Butler, along with IRON MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson and former MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain will appear at next year's Texas Frightmare Weekend horror convention. Set to take place May 28-30, 2027 at Irving Convention Center in Irving, Texas, it is one of the largest and scariest gatherings of horror fans, celebs, and vendors in the United States.

Rub elbows with iconic scream queens, slasher stars, and masters of the macabre. Score terrifyingly cool merch, exclusive photo ops, and once-in-a-lifetime meet-and-greets. Whether you're a zombie-loving newbie or a full-on horror geek, this fright-filled fest is your haunt.

As the original drummer and a founding member of BLACK SABBATH, Ward helped create the thunderous sound that gave birth to heavy metal! From "Black Sabbath" and "Paranoid" to "War Pigs" and beyond, his unmistakable drumming provided the heartbeat for some of the most influential music ever recorded.

One of the true architects of heavy metal, Butler helped create the dark, ominous sound and imagery that forever connected heavy metal with the world of horror. From "Iron Man" and "War Pigs" to "Paranoid" and "N.I.B.", his unmistakable bass playing and sinister lyrical themes helped define an entire genre.

One of the most iconic frontmen in heavy metal history, Dickinson has spent decades delivering unforgettable performances and helping shape the sound of metal as we know it.

For more than four decades, Nicko's thunderous drumming helped power one of the greatest bands in heavy metal history.

Since 2006, Texas Frightmare Weekend has brought North Texas horror fans a chillingly entertaining hub for congregating and celebrating all things terrifying, ghoulish and gory. After outgrowing Grapevine, the convention set up shop at the Hyatt Regency DFW airport from 2012 to 2022. As of 2023, the three-day event upped its hair-raising annual ante by moving its scares to the cavernous climes of the Irving Convention Center.
